Day and Night tag

image

D : Do you read more in the morning or at night?
More in the morning/afternoon. In the night, there are too many distractions going on with my family to where I can’t concentrate

A: Are there any books that changed the way you thought about things?
Yes, to kill a mockingbird. It showed me just how much racism truly existed.

Y: YA or not?
Ummm…yes! Is that even a proper question lol

A: Are there characters that you honestly believe are real?
No, because there are far too many characters that u WISH were real

N: Nobody touches my books or I don’t mind loaning them out?
Sorry but I do. I’ve had books not returned, or when returned, they are in horrendous condition.

D: Do you ever smell your books?
Hmm no not really

N: Not everyone loves reading. Is this a positive or a negative?
Well for me it really doesn’t matter if the people I know don’t like reading. I would want to be judged for loving to read, so I don’t feel the need to see a person not liking to read as a bad thing.

I: I keep my books in the best condition or maybe not?
For the most part I do keep my books in pretty good condition

G: Gosh I have too many books! True or False?
Pffftt,  please, there is so much wrongness in that statement

H: Have you ever spilled or stained a book before with something, and if so, how?
Once, with water on one page. I was drinking water from a water bottle and the bottle wasn’t really closed tight. It was only a drop though

T: Toned or un tones while reading. Do you read and work out at the same time?
I work out my mind, thank you very much

Once again, EVERYONE is tagged 🙂

The Reader Problems Tag

image

1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

Well, I normally have a list on my notebook for series that i want to read and I will sometimes categorize them in order of most anticipated. But other than that, I’ll just pick a random book ( it IS on my TBR after all lol )

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or commit?

I do like to commit to my books so that I can give it a fair chance. But if I reach a part where I’m really bored, I will normally skip that part and continue on with the book.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

If I’m really far behind,  then no, I will not try to catch up. I don’t want to rush through the books just to read a certain amount. I want to be able to enjoy the book I’m reading and not feel pressured.

4. The cover of a series you love do not match. How do you cope?

That is generally one of my pet peeves. I mean, at least keep the same color scheme.  But a complete change? That’s just a crime. What were you thinking of publishers?! So to answer the question, no I don’t cope.

5. Everyone and their mother love a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

There aren’t any steady readers in my family. So I just usually go on YouTube and find booktubers that share the same feeling and we rant together

6. You’re reading a book and you’re about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I don’t usually like to read books in public for the simple reason that I like the peace in quiet. Sooo I guess I don’t deal lol

7. A sequel of a book you love just came out, but you’ve forgotten alot from the previous novel. Will you reread the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads? Cry in frusturation?

I tend not to skip sequels, so what I do is I read a brief synopsis and skim through the book. If I still don’t remember enough to be able to read the sequel, then yes, I will reread the book

8. You do not want anyone borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?

I don’t typically trust people with my books, so I will just politely tell them that I don’t feel comfortable lending out the book since it did cost me money and I would be devastated if it were to be stained or ruined somehow

9. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

Ugh I hate those with a passion. Especially if it goes on for more than 1 week. I would normally just pick up a very short, quick read or a graphic novel to try to get me out of it.

10. There are so many books coming out that you’re dying to read. How many do you actually buy?

All of them. BUY ALL THE BOOKS. And then worry about going broke later xD

11. After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you read them?

Depending on what time it is when I buy them, I will usually read the first one on the day of purchase or start first thing in the morning

Who should I tag?? Hmmm…how about?? ALL OF YOU 😛

The Maze runner book review

Title : The Maze runner
Author: James Dashner
Rating: 4/5

Brief synopsis: Thomas wakes up in a box disoriented and confused, with no memory of who he is or how he got there. Upon finding others like him in a place known as the Glade, he discovers that the only possible way to get out of the Glade is to solve the maze. However, when the first girl ever appears in the box with an eerie message, Thomas and his friends must make difficult decisions in order to make it out alive.

Review: I breezed through this book because the world and the other gladers captivated me. The organization, the structure, and the discipline despite the hardships had me applauding for these boys. The twist near the very end with the girl and the revelation that was brought out by Thomas’ memories left me wanting to finish the book even more! The ending, oh gosh , that ending left me angry and sad at the same time! I’m currently reading the 2nd book and I definitely recommend the first one to whoever wants to get lost in a dystopian worle

Games of thrones???

Ok so I’m seriously debating…I’ve heard so much raving and hype about this series, especially in the book tube community. I saw the entire series at Walmart for 47 dollars and even though I think that’s a good deal, I’m not sure if I should pay for a series I might not even like. Don’t get me wrong though, the length of the books don’t throw me off at all..in fact, I prefer lengthy novels to keep me hooked and entertained. So opinions, my awesome followers, do you think I should give this series a try? Why or why not?

JUST BOUGHT…!!

So last night, I bought the entire quartet of the maze runner series. I’m so excited to read them!! The best part was that all four books only cost 27 dollars. I mean, how could I resist that? I’ve heard so many great things about this book and I’m excited to see what all the hype is about lol. Do you recommend this series?

Gone girl book review

Title: Gone girl
Authour: Gillian Flynn

Brief synopsis: On Amy and Nick’s fifth anniversary, all seems well…until Amy disappears. Slowly, clues and discoveries start unraveling that point to Nick as the killer. A cold, calculated killer. But despite his coldness and aloofness towards the investigation, is he really the murderous man that the clues make him out to be? Or is something just not adding up?

Rating: 4/5

Review: I’ll admit, at first, this book took me awhile to get into. It was mainly because of the confusing description at first. But as the story kept moving along, I found myself getting sucked in even more. With all the twists and turns that this story had, it was an explosive story. The swearing, however, had me cringing and shaking my head. But aside from that, it was a story that kept getting more and more mysterious. Now I see why this was classified as a psychological thriller. Would I recommend this book? If you can overlook the excessive swearing ( which I hardly could ) then yes I would recommend this book.

Review: From the very beginning, this book caught my attention. The action and mystery was there from the very beginning. The plot twist at the very end was very intriguing and caught me by surprise. I enjoyed this book very much and it kept me entertained
