October wrap up

Ok, so I’ve been on a short writing hiatus for awhile because of different reasons. But I’m hoping to post much more regularly.

I had a WONDERFUL reading month this month, not only because I read 5 books, but because I loved every single one of them!!

So, for the month of October I read:

image

Goodreads rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

I have loved the study series since poison study so of course I’ll see this series to the end!! I loved the chemistry between Valek and Yelena and I love that they’re taking their relationship to another level. I loved Ari and Jaco as well even when they weren’t together. They always make me chuckle haha.
I can’t wait to read the final book in January!!

Goodreads rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

I loved that this book only took some 0artd of beauty and the beast, and was still able to be original with the consequences of the curse. Now in this book, I really enjoyed Tamlin’s and Feyre’s relationship, but I did have some problems with it. The main one being placing th blame where it didn’t belong. I LOVED LUCIEN and his friendship with Feyre was just gold.
The ending though, had me hoping to see more of Ryhsand, especially with the bargain that was made.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book and the only regret I have was that I didn’t jump on this bandwagon sooner!!

Goodreads rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

SLIGHT SPOLIERS:

Ugh this book. This SERIES. As if Sarah hadn’t already ripped my heart out and stomped on it in Heir of Fire.
I hated the bitter resentment that Chaol and Aelin had towards each other, and I really wanted them to patch things up
However, I did understand each ones point to a degree.
Now let’s talk about the plot twist and the ending:
IT LEFT ME IN SHAMBLES. Ugh poor Dorian and what he had to do, and THE KING, THE KING, ugh I hope that one thing wasn’t true (really trying to avoid spoilers, but it is Sarah), because if it was, then my heart just ripped into tiny pieces ugh. Great job Valg kings and Morath, now you left Dorian to rule over a kingdom that’s in shambles 😦
But what happened to Chaol is too sad for me to mention and I just hope he gets himself fixed in Empire of Storms
As you can see from my rant, this book destroyed and gave me life, especially the scenes between Rowan and Aelin 😂

Goodreads rating: ☆☆☆.5

So I have this book a 3.5 not because I didn’t enjoy but because it took me so long to get into it. The fact that it took me 12 days to finish it still bothers me. I did love the chemistry between Thorne and Cress, but I felt like there was a lot of filter in this book, rather than action, and I guess that’s why it dragged out a bit for me.
But I did enjoy the ending, so I am looking foward to reading Winter hopefully soon

Goodreads rating: ☆☆☆☆☆

This book became almost an addiction to me!!!
I could physically see why everyone HATED Tamlin in this book, because by the end I was content with him crawling in a hole and not resurfacing.
But RYHSAND, ugh , SO MUCH LOVE. God I wish we had more than 1 chapter from his pov and also his Inner Circle.
I’m not going to go into too much detail because I’m going to post a full review soon because I have too many things to rant about
I 100% loved this book and that is all you need to know right now

SO, that is my wrap up for October! I’m currently 400 pages into Empire of Storms, so I’m hoping to finish that this coming week.
I’ll be posting full spoiler reviews for Queen of Shadows and A court 9f mist and fury so if you’ve read this books, stay tuned for my reviews

I was debating whether to post a TBR for this month or not and I’ve decided not to because most of my books come from the library and so because of a whacky holds system I don’t know which book I’m going to recieve and when on any given time

So I hope you guys enjoyed this post!! ☺

The Darkest Minds book review

Title: The Darkest Minds

Author: Alexandra Bracken

Rating: 4/5

I read this novel in 4 days, so that should give you a hint to how much I loved it!!

The characters were so endearing because you could see just how much weight and pain they had to carry around them like beacons.

The plot also drew me in with so much force that it left me reeling until the end 🙂

The plot : Gave me the feeling of the X-men and I LOVE those movies. The plot at times, though,  went at a slow pace, but it was only because it was a build up of a particular twist.

The characters:

Ruby : I both loved and cringed at the decisions that Ruby made, especially trusting someone that CLEARLY wasn’t worthy of it just so she could control her abilities. Some decisions I understood while others left me wanting to strangle her!! What she did in the end though, I’m still trying to wrap my mind around it

Liam: I LOVED Liam, because he was such an in depth character with so many flaws, yet with so much enthusiasm to remedy them. His compassion and always wanting to see the good in others was truly heatwarming, and his love for Ruby, well you’ll have to find out in the book lol

There are other characters in this book ( like Chubs, Zu, and Clancy ) but I don’t want to give too much away 😉

All in all I absolutely loved this book and I am more than eagered to read the sequel as soon as possible!!

Bottom line: Do I recommend? Yes!!

Angelfall book review

Title: Angelfall

Authour: Susan Ee

Format: digital

Rating: 4/5

Review: Ok, so let me start off by saying that the main reason I was interested in this book at first was because of all the hype that it was getting on booktube. With that being said, this book quickly grew on me! Let’s break this review down a bit

The writing: I loved the descriptive sentences that were used to describe scenes that were cringe worthy. It really added to the beauty of the story

The plot : From the very beginning this plot was very unique since you normally picture angels as helpers than destroyers, so that really gave a very nice spin on things

The characters:

Pendryn : I loved this characters wit and her loyalty towards her family, especially towards her little sister paige. Her development throughout the book was noticeable and very endearing.

Raffe: I’ll admit, at first, he was not growing on me at all. But as the book progressed and I saw the longing that he had for his wings and in the end for Pendryn, it really showed the inner struggle that he suffered. At the very end I completely fell in love with him and I’m eagered to see what role he plays in the next book

Paige: What happened to this sweet and lovable girl was just devastating. Although she didn’t make much of an appearance throughout the book, she still left a lasting impression on me

All, in all I loved this book and I can’t wait to read the next in the trilogy.

Disclaimer: I recieved a free review copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

May TBR!!

Hello book works and loyal followers! The month of may is upon us and even though it is the 4th of may I have decided to do a may tbr ( which I will hopefully stick to this time ) haha. Soo without any further delay here are the books I plan to read this month!

1.

image

( Currently reading and halfway through)

2.

image

( this has been on my TBR for about 2 months and it’s time to crack this bad boy open! )

3.

image

( I’ve been on a mystery kick lately and this book seems to be right up my alley! )

So those are all the books I plan to read this month. The reason it’s only three is because my April reading month was a little rough, so hopefully a small reading goal this month will make me more ambitious lol. I’ll definetly be posting reviews of these books ( since they are from netgalley) so stay tuned!! Sadly, they are all kindle version but that’s also a good thing since I go through ebooks much more quicker than physical books! What is your TBR for this month?:)

April Wrap Up

Sooooo I didn’t QUITE stick to my TBR (when do I ever lol) BUT, I did read one of the books on my TBR. So let’s get on with the wrap up!

1.) Title: The book thief
     Author: Markus Zusak
    Rating: 5/5
Review: I LOVE this book because it was so thought provoking and at times just plain painful! It stirred so many emotions within me! The only reason that it took me so long to finish the book was because of my reading slump (ughhh). So don’t wait any longer and pick up the book! P.S. I’m excited to read his other book the messenger, but I’m not sure how it will compare to this book!

2.) Title: Catch Me
     Author: Lisa Gardner
     Rating: 3.5/5
Review: Honestly, this was a Walmart pick up because I needed some reading material but was low on cash. Despite that, I did quite enjoy this book. If it was for the (personal opinion) unnecessary swearing in this book, I would of given it a higher rating, but that is one of my bookish pet peeves ( hey I should make a separate post about that! Lol). Anyway, the characters were very intriguing and I just liked how the personal lives of the characters came into play. What I loved most was just how raw and real it really was and it just went to show me that the decisions that our families make do affect us in the future. Enjoyed it, but could of done without the swearing.

ANNNDD. ..that’s it! 😦 sorry guys this reading slump really hit me HARD. BUT I’m out of it! (I think) and am planning on starting a new book today, so hopefully the month of may will be a better reading month for me!:) What did you guys read this month?

April TBR!!

Soooo…I’m still in my reading slump!!:( BUT I am reading a very good book at the moment ( the Book Thief ) so hopefully that will slowly get me out of my reading slump. Despite that, I will make my April TBR very small. So without further adoo..here it is..

image

1.) The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

2.) The Curse of Senapin by Daniel Waltz

image

3.) Broken Skies by Theresa Kay

Sooo..that’s all the books I’m planning to read this month. This TBR might change depending on the books I buy and my mood
P. S. The 2nd book does not have a cover yet since it will be released in April.

What are you reading this month?:)

For the 2nd book, there is no cover available yet since it will be released April 16

March Wrap Up!!

So fellow followers,I’m back with my March wrap up! In the month of march i read a total of 4 books. The main reason for this is because I moved last month so that took up most of my free time! So all in all 4 books is pretty good. So now onto  the books I read!

The Scorch Trials

  • Author: James Dashner
  • Format: Paperback
  • Rating: 3.5/5
  • Brief Review: I did enjoy this book, especially the loyalty that was shown. I felt that above all, Minho really did prove himself as a good and loyal friend. No wonder i love him so much! As for Thomas, he did develop and flesh out more, but not as much as Minho in my opinion. But ugh Newt!!!! I think this is the reason that i gave this installment 3.5 stars.I just couldn’t believe that happened to him! He was such a loving character! All in all, it was a good sequel

The Death Cure

  • Author: James Dashner
  • Format:Paperback
  • Rating: 4/5
  • Brief Review: I seriously just loved the ending to this book, and i think the main reason for that was because WICKED finally admitted that they made a mistake by putting the kids through what they were put through. It was a bittersweet ending and all in all i think that it was a good ending to the trilogy.

The Kill Order

  • Author: James Dashner
  • Format:Paperback
  • Rating: 4/5
  • Brief Review: Even though most people didnt like this book, I thought that it was very well thought out and that it added a new viewpoint to the story. It really showed how WICKED messed everything up through the eyes of the cities and home. I really loved reading how others other than the candidates were negatively affected by the government. If you haven’t read this book, and are hesitant to, I urge you to pick it up!

Beautiful Darkness

  • Author: Kami Garcia
  • Format:Paperback
  • Rating:4/5
  • Brief Review: I saw this book at Goodwill for 6 dollars and couldn’t help myself. At first, I was hesitant to pick it up since i had read the first book a year ago. However,i found myself quickly catching on.With that being said, this book had a REALLY slow start that dragged on! Despite that,I continued with the book, and, interestingly enough it did pick up towards the middle and the ending really caught my interest. So im glad that i didn’t give upon this book. Poor Link! He just cant catch a break now can he? I am planning on continuing with this series!

Currently reading: The book thief. I’M LOVING IT. But sadly, I’m in a reading slump right now 😦

Kindle Paperwhite?

So, Ive been debating on whether or not i should buy a kindle paperwhite. I would mostly use it to read novellas of series or series that contain more than 12 books (a series of unfortunate events). The greatest quality that attracts me the most about this e-reader is that it has a backlight. I love to be able to read at night when i cant fall asleep or when everyone else is asleep and i dont want to fall asleep. It definitely has its quirks and its so light weight that i could take it anywhere and get in a couple of minutes of reading time between waits or long drives

Of course,i will never stop buying actual physical books, as i love seeing them stacked up. So, i would just use the e-reader for long series and novellas that accompany series. And of course, who could complain about the prices of kindle books. So,what does everyone else think? Should i spend 200 on the kindle paperwhite or should i pass up on it?If you have a kindle paperwhite, what are your thoughts on it?

Can you read with distractions around?

So, lately I’ve been finding out that I can’t seem to concentrate as much as I wanted to on reading when the TV was on around me and my family kept talking. Normally, that doesn’t really faze me that much and I can typically stay concentrated. But in the past few days I haven’t been able to read with others in the house ( unless I close the door of whatever room I’m in..and even then it’s hard) so I guess that spoils my reading during the weekend and evenings:(. I guess I have to read as much as I can when I’m alone in the mornings so I can make my TBR for this month ( although honestly I’m not stressing too much over it since I’m moving we’re moving this weekend) alright enough with the pointless rant haha.

What about you? Can you read with distractions around?

New book buy!!

I just bought the Book Thief at Shopko! I’ve been hearing so much about this book and so I’m eagered to read it! It’s also on my loong TBR list so it’ll knock one down also! So what are your thoughts on this book? Yay or Nay?
